Agama is a wallet solution developed by the SuperNet project, which was later acquired by Komodo. It offers support for a diverse range of cryptocurrencies. While there are various ways to store Komodo's cryptocurrency, KMD, Agama stands as the official wallet developed by Komodo's team.
The wallet also includes exchange features that allow users to convert cryptocurrencies within the wallet. These exchanges are facilitated through atomic swaps, eliminating the need for third parties and aligning with the principle of true decentralization. Notably, atomic swaps come with no associated fees, providing an added advantage.
Agama can also be used for staking KMD, enabling users to earn newly minted KMD tokens.
The wallet operates on a hierarchical deterministic system, and users retain control over their private keys. To exercise this control, users essentially have to run a node. Agama offers three modes to choose from, two of which involve maintaining a full copy of the blockchain, while the third relies on decentralized nodes for blockchain data retrieval.
However, it's important to note that Agama lacks multi-signature functionality, and users cannot enable two-factor authentication.
Komodo is a relatively new project, which means some of the technology implemented in the Agama wallet may still be in an experimental phase. While Agama offers unique advantages and key differences compared to standard competitor wallets, the project has yet to achieve widespread adoption and remains unproven.
