About Jaxx

Jaxx is a wallet service originally developed by Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio in 2014. The wallet provides users with standard wallet functions, including buying, selling, and making transactions. Additionally, Jaxx allows users to convert between different cryptocurrencies within the wallet. Jaxx boasts support for a wide array of cryptocurrencies and aims to support various projects. A primary goal of Jaxx is to empower users by giving them full control of their private keys, which are hosted locally on the client side and never accessed by external servers. However, the wallet does not offer support or exchange services for fiat currencies. Users receive a single master seed backup for added security.

Wallet Features and Security

Jaxx wallets are hierarchical deterministic, enhancing control and organization. Unfortunately, the wallet lacks multi-signature functionality and does not offer two-factor authentication, which may affect security. The code for Jaxx is not open source, making it difficult to assess the platform's security rigor. The wallet displays spendable balances and includes a max send feature for users.
