Waves Chrome Extension: Easy Blockchain Access

The Waves Google Chrome extension offers a convenient way for users to swiftly access their blockchain funds. This is achieved through the utilization of public Waves nodes. Instead of the cumbersome process of downloading the entire blockchain data, utilizing a Waves node allows you to bypass this step.

How It Works:

  • When initiating the broadcasting of a new transaction to the blockchain, it's typically necessary to have previously downloaded all preceding blockchain data. However, this process can be time-consuming and bandwidth-intensive due to the large file sizes. By employing a Public Waves node, you can immediately access the complete blockchain data and broadcast your transaction without the need to download the entire blockchain itself.
  • Upon registering your Wave wallet software, you will receive a "seed." This seed serves as a crucial security component for your wallet. The seed is AES encrypted with a password of your choosing.
  • Each transaction is locally signed using JavaScript on the client side and subsequently transmitted to the node. Importantly, your seed remains undisclosed to the network.

Pros & Cons

  • Enables instant blockchain access, saving time and bandwidth by eliminating the need to download the entire blockchain data.
  • Enhances security as your seed remains client-side and is never disclosed to the platform itself.
  • The Waves project team demonstrates transparency and possesses a high level of expertise.
  • Designed for easy use, making it accessible even to newcomers in the field of technology.
  • No drawbacks encountered so far.
  • Personally using Waves and finding it highly enjoyable.
