Many people have believed that Craig Wright might be Satoshi Nakamoto, but in a recent deposition, Gavin Andresen asserted that it might not be accurate.
The depositions came up when Wright had a case against his business partner David Kleiman, that exposed Wright. Andresen cleared the air by saying he initially believed that Wright was Bitcoin creator’s or at least was part of it. But he later discovered that he might have been wrong.
There are places in the private proving session where I could have been fooled, where somebody could have switched out the software that was being used or, perhaps, the laptop that was delivered was not a brand-new laptop, and it had been tampered with in some way. I was also jet-lagged. And, again, I was not in the headspace of this is going to prove to the world that Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto. I was in the head space of, you know, this will prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto. And my doubts arise because the proof that was presented to me is very different from the pseudo proof that was later presented to the world.
Andresen added that following his emails with Satoshi between 2010 and 2011, he doubts he has ever communicated with the Bitcoin founder again.
Crypto enthusiasts have closely followed the case between Wright and Kleiman as they believe it has a significant impact on the future of Bitcoin. Just last month, Kleiman lawyers found more evidence against Wright.
In support of Andresen, Mark Karples, the former Mt. Gox CEO, added that he believes that Wright is either a thief or a fraud.
Wright might be getting into a case with Bitcoin Foundation Founder as sued him for making allegations against him in 2019. Andresen added to his charge against Wright:
I have my doubts on–I have many, many doubts in my head about what parts of–what things Craig told me are true and what is not true.
Andresen is well known for his high profile as far as Bitcoin and software development is concerned. He has a big following, and his statements are likely to be taken seriously as he is an industry leader.
